Waiake Sunrise Tidal Flat

Description

A panoramic sunrise capture from the tidal flat at Waiake Beach on Auckland's North Shore — the storm cloud canopy deep purple above, the horizon burning orange-gold below, and the still tidal flat carrying the full colour spectacle in reflection. Tītī Rock in silhouette on the left, three moored yachts in the mid-harbour, Rangitoto Island on the right horizon. Shot during an eight-minute window on 10 November 2024 when a breaking storm cloud and a clear horizon collided at exactly the moment of sunrise.

For the wall that needs to own the room.

This image doesn't share wall space — it takes it. The purple-to-orange colour confrontation reads from across a room and draws you closer to find the Tītī Rock silhouette, the yacht masts, the Rangitoto cone, and the doubled sky in the tidal flat below. At 150cm or wider, the cloud texture, the reflection pools, and the colour gradient from deep storm purple overhead to concentrated fire at the horizon produce an immersive experience that changes character as the light in the room changes. Morning light pulls the orange. Evening light deepens the purple. It is never quite the same image twice.

For Auckland buyers, this is your harbour and your island and your sky, at the moment it was most itself.
