The Red Bridge and the Old Queen

Description

Cavenagh Bridge & The Fullerton Hotel, Singapore — Fine Art Night Cityscape Print

A long-exposure night capture from the south bank of the Singapore River — the red-illuminated Cavenagh Bridge (Singapore's oldest surviving bridge, 1869) crossing the foreground, The Fullerton Hotel (1928) glowing warm amber on the right, the Esplanade concert hall's distinctive dome visible in the mid-distance, and the towers of Singapore's CBD rising above.

The river surface, smoothed by the long exposure, carries the reflection of all four colour zones — red, amber, cool blue-grey, dark green — in a surface that reads as richer than the scene above it.

For walls that hold history as well as beauty.

This image is for buyers who know Singapore — who have stayed at the Fullerton, crossed the Cavenagh Bridge, sat in the Esplanade — and want a version of it that does justice to what the city actually looks like at its best. It is also for buyers who have never been there and find, looking at this image, that they want to go. The layered history in the frame — colonial-era bridge, colonial-era hotel, postmodern concert hall, and glass tower financial district — makes this a more complex and more lasting image than a standard cityscape. There is something to look at every time.
